MANDATORY COMPOST RECYCLING
NOTICE: Due to the new mandatory CalRecycle SB1383 legislation starting January 1st 2022. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPOST. Food waste will no longer be allowed in the garbage. If you currently don't compost or don't have one of our compost carts, please email us at sonomagarbage@gmail.com.
You can use either paper bags or 100% certified compostable bags to place your food scraps into.
Tips: To help with odor and insects, we recommend freezing your food waste prior
to placing it in the cans for pickup. There is also
Diatomaceous Earth that may help with odor and insects. It is a natural deodorizer and insect repellent that is safe to add to the can.
